Entity Theatre Workshop

A title like Lovers at Versailles might call to mind powdered wigs, opulent costumes and courtly intrigues. Far from that! Energetic English amateur group Entity Theatre Workshop has chosen a domestic comedy by Irish playwright Bernard Farrell as their first production this year. Lovers at Versailles depicts the life of Anna and her quirky family after the death of family patriarch Steven. The story is told predominantly through Anna’s eyes, as she flips back and forth from memories of years gone by to the present day and her father’s funeral. Even though Farrell’s piece deals with the melancholy and fissures of suburban life, the dry Irish sense of humor prevails throughout. Entity will stage performances on February 1 and 2 at the Europahalle of European School Munich (Elise-Aulinger-Str. 21, U5 Therese-Giehse-Allee). The final performance will take place at the off-theater Leo 17 (Leopoldstr, 17, U3/6 Giselastrasse) on February 9. Tickets for the nights at the European School Munich cost € 10 and are available by calling Tel. (0700) 36 84 89 00. Tickets for Leo 17 cost € 10–12 and can be purchased at VVK outlets or by calling Tel. 54 81 81 81. All performances start at 7:30 pm. <<<
