Robin Huw Bowen

No, the Welsh triple harp is not the newest acquisition of the musical instrument curators at the Deutsches Museum. Instead, the rare avis will arrive in Munich with little fanfare, within the baggage of Robin Huw Bowen. Under his fingers, this centuries-old instrument conjures a forgotten world through gypsy tunes and folk music in the Welsh style. Bowen—the only harpist in the world today devoting himself solely to the performance of the Welsh triple harp—will delight his audience with his vibrant and sensitive play on April 29 at the Theater im Fraunhofer. The concert will begin at 8:30 pm, and will be brought to you by the Irish Folk Club Munich. Tickets cost € 18 and can be purchased at the cashdesk on the evening of the concert. <<<
