Digital Art

Digital art exhibit

Digital Art Not long ago, virtual reality seemed like something out of science-fiction movies. Today, our society has become so infiltrated with multimedia that it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the real and the created. If we see it, we tend to believe it. Although we know that digital technology has the ability to transform images we accept what we see as real. From February 3, to the end of the month, German artist Elisabeth Brockmann will challenge viewers’ conception of reality with her digital installation "The Digital View," a 23-meter-long exhibit that will stretch across the front of the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel/Residenz Theater on Max-Joseph-Platz. Brockmann, who studied painting under Gerhard Richter at Düsseldorf Academy, is up for a professorship at Munich’s Academy of Fine Arts. If she is selected, we will no doubt see more work from this innovative artist. <<< LM
