Write and Read

Reading by American author Michael Cunningham

Write and Read Munich’s Amerika Haus is often the site of readings by renowned American authors. In keeping with the organization’s presentation of an illustrious cast of novelists — including Wally Lamb and Toni Morrison — the Bayerisch-Amerikanisches Zentrum at the Amerika Haus is scheduled to host a reading by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Michael Cunningham. Reading from the book that won him the distinguished award, The Hours — a story of two women whose lives are intertwined with the life and work of Virginia Woolf — Cunningham will take center stage at the Karolinenplatz facility on February 21 at 19:00. The novel, which has been translated into 11 languages and has been described as “clever and playful” by the Philadelphia Inquirer, draws a direct parallel between its female protagonists and Woolf’s masterwork Mrs. Dalloway. The evening with Cunningham is free-of-charge. <<< LV
