So you think America is the only place where baseball is played? Guess again! Munich’s very own baseball team, the “Munich Ambassadors,” was founded in 1992 and is planning a huge 10th anniversary event this year. The club is made up of one youth team and three senior teams, one of which enjoyed the status of “Bavarian champions” in 2001. The other two senior teams consist of rookies or participants who prefer to play under less pressure. The “Ambassadors” are always looking for new players and spectators—the current members are mostly German, but Australian and Latin-American players lend meaning to the group’s name. If you are interested in catching some baseball, either as a spectator or a player, log on to www.ambassadors.de (though all members speak English, the site is only in German): here you can find the game schedule and photos of the players and past games.
