Review of soundtrack of Star Wars Episode I.
John Williams* Star Wars Episode 1 Soundtrack (Sony Classics) Episode 1 is the most commercially successful film in cinematic history. However, as many sci-fi buffs leave theaters disappointed by the over-rated flick, the sentiment has become “customer quantity doesn’t equal quality.” The let-down suffered by SW junkies goes hand-in-hand, too, with the movie’s miserable score, authored by soundtrack king John Williams. The work comes off cool, calculated and overblown. There are no traces of emotion here. Instead the film is accompanied by orchestral strains which, while not overtly annoying, match the mediocrity of this fantasy flop.
