Italian Landscapes
Germany might have its share of picturesque spots, but it doesn’t compare to Italy—at least not in the eyes of a group of 19th-century German artists, who chose to use the Italian landscapes as their inspiration. This month, some 160 of their paintings go on show in an exhibition at the Neue Pinakothek—“Italienbilder der Goethezeit”—which runs from April 21 to July 24.
