Buds and Spuds
It seems everyone is sporting green thumbs these days. In conjunction with BUGA—Germany’s national garden show—the Deutsches Museum has dug up a variety of historical books on gardening, plants and herbs and their medicinal uses. Drawn from their library of nearly 900,000 volumes, the flowery selection includes lavishly illustrated books, horticultural literature and a German version of the first herbal publication by a woman, Elizabeth Blackwell’s 18th-century
Curios Herbal. “Tulpen und Kartoffeln:
Der Garten im Spiegel der Literatur aus fünf Jahrhunderten” is on display until July 31. <<<
