Munich’s Vokal Total festival proves that good music doesn’t need instruments. This year, for the ninth time, 41 a cappella bands from Europe and America will give 24 concerts with musical styles ranging from smooth ballads to hip hop and opera. In October look out for, among others, German group VivaVoce (October 28) and The Magnets, from Britain (October 29), who’ll enchant you with a mixture of cover songs, as well as their own compositions. The festival starts on October 7 and will run until December 4, with concerts taking place in Spectaculum Mundi, the Georg-Elser-Halle and the Theaterzelt Das Schloss.
