Mongols are back


To commemorate 800 years since Genghis Khan founded the largest empire in history, the Staatliches Museum Für Völkerkunde is showing a riveting exhibition depicting the Mongolian Empire at the height of its power. Through displays of Buddhist art, historical maps and photos, weapons, armor, textiles, ceramics and archeological findings, Genghis Khan and His Heirs guides visitors through the Mongols’ turbulent reign and looks at their lasting influence on the world. Definitely a must-see, the exhibition runs until January 29 and is open Tues.–Sun. 9:30 am–5:15 pm. Admission is € 7 for adults and free for children.
