Archive touring
Here’s a one-off treat for art lovers and historians alike. For the first time in its history, the Haus der Kunst is opening up its archives to the public. On February 17 at 3 pm, visitors will be given a guided tour (with translation into English) through the museum’s fascinating past. Among the things on show are a letter from 1940, discussing
Hitler’s influence on an exhibition, and the
Haus der Kunst’s account books, which provide insight into the prices paid over the years for various paintings and sculptures. The number of participants is restricted, so make sure you register in advance at
archiv@hausderkunst.de
or by calling Dr. Elena Heitsch (Tel. 21 12 71 15).
