March 2006
Contemporary Zeitsprung
Never accuse Munich of not being forward-thinking when it comes to the arts. This month sees the launch of a new contemporary music series—Zeitsprung—featuring an innovative mixture of classical and 20th-century music. The first concert—Zeitsprung I—
is on March 12 and includes works by Charles Ives, Markus Zahnhausen and Minas Borboudakis. Zeitsprung II on May 21 will commemorate the birthdays of such composers as Schostakovich and Mozart, and Zeitsprung III on September 24
will focus on Stravinsky’s “The Soldier’s Tale.” The final concert of the year, Zeitsprung IV, will be held on November 26. All performances are at Gasteig. See
