Munich's Midsummer Night's Dream
Last year, the event Münchner Sommernachtstraum, held at the Olympic Park, was so successful and so well received that organizers and sponsors are pleased to announce it will take place again this year, on Saturday, July 29. International cuisine, music, dance, laser and projection shows, water displays and a fabulously choreographed fireworks finale are highlights of the event, which will go by the theme of “African Nights.”
Sommernachtstraum begins at 4 pm, when visitors will be able to picnic, take advantage of the event’s gastronomic offerings or just “chill out” until the performances start:
6 pm: Live DJ music with “African Nights” theme
8 pm: African artists, bands, drummers and dancers will perform live, on four stages surrounding the Olympic Lake
about 9 pm: A lively “showdown” of all the musicians, singers and dancers from the night’s performances
about 10:20 pm: A huge fireworks display staged by Rainer Ellenberger. Afterwards, the park will stay open until midnight for those who wish to keep the party going a bit longer.
