Once Upon a Time in India
Home to holy cows and call centers, bindis and Goa beach raves, India is a land full of apparent contradictions. On October 9, at 9 pm, and October 10, at 8 pm, at the Olympiahalle, the musical spectacular “Bharati” will explore this mix of modern and traditional, by way of the love story of a local girl and a high-tech whiz back from a stint in the States. Since the name “Bharati” means “the search for light,” audiences might anticipate visual spectacle, and will not be disappointed. Although the narration will be in German, the show’s 100 dancers, 1000 costumes, acrobats, musicians and video productions make this a cultural extravaganza appropriate for any audience.
