The Making of Marilyn
Photographs at the Galerie Stephen Hoffman (Prannerstrasse 5) show a young Midwestern girl posing for a clothing ad, a sex bomb in semipornographic poses and a glittering Hollywood starlet on set—and the same woman appears in each. The exhibition “From Norma Jean Baker to Marilyn Monroe” documents the many personas that the cultural icon assumed during her rise to fame. It took years for the gallery to bring together these valuable original photographs by Alfred Eisenstaedt, Gordon Parks and others. They will be on display until January 13. The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday, 11 am to 1 pm, and 2 pm to 7 pm. On Saturday, it is open 11 am to 4 pm. <<<
