Erin Go Party!
Munich’s 12th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held this year on March 11. (Yes, it’s a bit early, but think of it as an excuse to celebrate twice.) Beginning at noon at Münchner Freiheit, more than 35 music, cultural, and dance groups will wander down Ludwig- and Leopoldstrasse to Odeonsplatz. After the traditional “Shamrock Blessing,” Irish music and dance groups will take to the stage and the Guiness will start to flow in earnest. The official party will end at 6 pm, at which point revelers are sure to stage their own parade to one of the city’s many Irish pubs. See this month's food feature
