First we quake, now we shake
Jewelry has been a global art form for centuries, but it is only in the past decade that it has become an international business. Thirteen years ago, before the internet or cell phones, nine students at jewelry schools in Tokyo, Amsterdam, and Munich united to present a collaborative exhibition called “jewelryquake,” which explored the possibilities of multicultural interchange in jewelry-making. Over a decade later, the same artists have now reunited to celebrate their own achievements and the global growth of their industry. “First We Quake Now We Shake” will visit Munich’s Galerie für Angewandte Kunst from March 1 until April 14, located at Pacellistr. 6. The gallery is open Monday to Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm.
