Munich-American Peace Committee
When President George W. Bush was elected to a second term, many frustrated Americans joked about fleeing the U.S. A few actually did become expats. Living abroad is no excuse, however, for inaction in the face of policies that affect citizens of every country. For the past 23 years, American and German citizens concerned by US foreign policy have joined together to work for peace as the Munich-American Peace Committee. The group promotes disarmament, non-violent resistance, and peace in the Middle East through rallies, concerts, exhibitions, and letter-writing campaigns. They meet on the third Friday of each month at 7 pm in the EineWeltHaus. See www.mapc-web.de for more information, or call Marie Voss at 98 70 01.
