Hunting and Fishing Fair
If you think you know what the Hunting and Fishing Fair is about (fur fashion shows, a used weapon market, and crossbows as far as the eye can see) you might be surprised to learn that the trade show is attempting to appeal to a wider audience by stressing the place of hunting in Bavarian tradition. A new exhibition area called “Bavaria Life” will feature displays of Tracht (traditional clothing), the artistry of local crafters, and live demonstrations of such traditional arts as honey-making or wax candle-dipping. In another area, displays will explore efforts to counter the ecological effects of hunting and fishing, according to event promoters. The fair will be open from March 28 to April 1 at the Neue Messe (U2 Messestadt Ost or West). Adult entry is
€ 12; children 6 to 14, € 3.50; and children under six are free.
An afternoon ticket is available from Wednesday through Saturday after 3:30 pm for € 6.50.
