Artists' Gardens
The first blooms of spring are appearing below ground this year, as the Lenbachhaus presents an exhibition of “Gardens” in the subterranean Kunstbau. Paintings and drawings from many different countries and centuries will constitute a tour of gardens through time. From medieval gardens showcasing planted souvenirs from foreign journeys, to wartime Victory Gardens, to the modern creations of Martha Stewart admirers, these small patches of land have had a deep importance for many different people: Rubens, Manet, Renoir, and Klee among them. Their works will be on display from April 5 to July 8.
