The Viktualienmarkt turns 200 this year. Even if it doesn’t look a day over 40—indeed, it was renovated in the late 1960s—the occasion is cause for celebration. Many special events are planned throughout the coming months. The market’s official birthday party will take place on Wednesday, May 2. Concerts, culinary surprises, and special prices at stands will help every visitor enjoy the best that the market has to offer.
