DOK.Fest
Much more than just a warm-up for the summer’s annual Munich Film Festival, the 22nd annual DOK.FEST brings together the world’s best documentary filmmakers. Skeptics need only look to such recent hits as An Inconvenient Truth, Water, or March of the Penguins to see the growing popularity of the genre. Around 80 such films will be shown at theaters across the city from May 2 to 10. A highlight of the festival is the DOC Competition, which seeks to support young film artists by awarding a € 5,000 prize and € 140,000 financing offer to the German-speaking artist who creates the festival’s best film. Tickets are available through Munich Ticket and at the DOK.FEST box office on Sebastiansplatz
near the Filmmuseum.
