The stalwarts of Munich’s English-language theater scene have come together to stage the German premiere of Kristen Thomson’s award-winning play I, Claudia, on May 24 at the Amerika Haus. Directed by Paul Lampert, produced by Jean-Luc Julien, and starring Elisa Moolecherry, the play traverses the emotional obstacle course of a young girl dealing with her parents’ divorce. Moolecherry will don masks to portray the girl, Claudia, and three other characters: Claudia’s Bridezilla step-mother, her school’s Bulgonian caretaker, and her grandfather, who longs for the good old days. Hilarious and heart-breaking, the play reminds audiences what it was like to be a teen, and most likely makes them glad they’ve forgotten.
