Munich Blade Nights
The city’s become a skating rink as the Munich Blade Nights return for the season. Last year, an average of 12,000 skaters followed the specially closed courses each week. The number of participants is expected to climb in 2007 as a result of the upcoming Velocity Conference for green transportation. That is, if the event makes it to the summer. Organizers have thus far been unable to secure a main sponsor for the event. They are rolling on only with profits from an armband sale, and the hope that someone will step in to save this Munich tradition.
