Classic on Odeonsplatz
Munich has no shortage of beautiful settings for music performances: The opera house, Gasteig Philharmonic, Prinzregententheater, and Herkulessaal are all impressive world-class venues. Still, nothing quite compares to “Classic on Odeons-platz.” Listening to musicians in the shadow of the Theatinerkirche is a singular experience that has become a treasured annual tradition in Munich. This year, concerts will be staged on June 30 and July 1 at 9 pm. As of press time, the July 1 concert with piano sensation Lang Lang was sold out, but tickets to the June 30 performance are still on sale for € 24–64. One of the world’s greatest Wagner singers, Waltraud Maier, will perform songs from The Ring and works by other composers with the Bavarian Rundfunk Orchestra.
