Hail and Farewell

This summer edition marks an important change on the masthead at Munich found, one that we regard with mixed feelings. Melissa—our Editor for the past year—is saying Auf Wiedersehen to Munich. We will miss her refreshing and eager presence here in the office. Just after finishing her exams at Harvard last June, Melissa stormed in like a twister and brought a new, young touch to our magazine. We’re happy, though, that she has been able to use her busy year with MunichFound as a stepping stone for an interesting new job in New York.

New York seems to be closer to Munich than you might imagine. Our new Editor Audra—a dyed-in-the- wool New Yorker—just dropped in last winter, looking to expand her personal horizons in good old Europe. She began by helping us out with her great journalism experience and superb copy editing skills, and so sneaked into our permanent staff. I’m very pleased to announce that she has agreed to take over Melissa’s role at the magazine, and will use her talents to observe and report on our beautiful town.

This change also gives me the chance to thank two of our rock steady staff members. For several years, our Art Director Sharin has been giving the face to our magazine: as important as the written content. A large part of our success is due to her creative ideas about how to wrap and present the stories found between the covers (which she also designs). I also want to thank Anja: our very efficient and friendly Office Manager. Anja controls everything from production to shipping, and always has the utmost patience for our readers and advertisers (and us). The staff at Munich Found are such a great team!
