24 Hours Race
All-nighters at a desk are rough enough, but this July 14–15, more than 1,500 slightly crazy cyclists will spend 24 hours pedaling around Olympic Park. In its three years the race has become a cult event for local cyclists. Some teams ride to raise money for children’s charities, while others face the challenge just for a thrill. There are no spaces left for would-be riders, but moderators and music will keep spectators entertained throughout the park from 1 am onward. Bring the kids, perhaps, to count moon-lit wheels instead of sheep.
