Not only does Munich have a football team (not soccer, but American football), it also sports a well-established all-female team called the Cowboys! On September 23, the Ladies Football team will hold its season endgame, LadiesBowl 2007, at the Münchner Dante Stadium. Kickoff is at 3 pm. A few more surprises: The 35 or so women who play during the April to September season are mostly Germans and the endgame is expected to draw about 500 spectators. Throughout Germany about ten ladies’ teams play in a Ladies Football League and about 30 non-league teams hit the fields each week nationwide. “It is a complicated and interesting sport,” says Team Manager Tiffany Dinges. “But within the first five or ten minutes ... it becomes understandable and fascinating to watch.” For further information, go to www.munichcowboysladies.de
