Review of Simon Collins' CD - For All Who You Are
Simon Collins** For All Who You Are (WEA) Simon Collins is the eldest son of rock legend Phil Collins. The 22-year-old musician was taught by his talented old man to play the drums when he was five. Though For All Who You Are, Simon Collins’ debut CD, boasts a winning production crew comprising of European dance music giants — including Sven Väth pupils Stevie B-Zet, A.C. Boutsen and Ralf Hildenbeutel — the work lacks style. A mix of techno, dance and “drum and bass,” the unfortunately monotone album, with its boring electronic instrumentals and weak-voiced attempts at sounding like dad disappoints.
