November 2007
Past and Future at the Haus Der Kunst
There is no better place for discussing “Gebaute Ideologie” (built ideology) than Munich’s Haus der Kunst. Winfried Nerdinger, director of the Munich Architekturmuseum, and others will discuss “places and commemoration.”
Jong Myong Ho, chief architect of Kim Jong Il, gives a lecture about the dictator’s design theory. Lauro Cavalcanti will compare the buildings of Oscar Niemeyer in Brasilia and Rio with other constructions of totalitarian regimes. Following the lectures, a panel with Rem Kohlhaas, Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron rounds out the theme. The event takes place on November 8 from 4 pm to 10 pm. Pre-registration is required at
events@hausderkunst.de. Tickets are € 12. <<<
