Mention Ingolstadt as a good shopping destination, and you run the risk of inferring that nothing less than a new Audi can bring joy on Christmas day. No need to worry: In this case, the recommendation is all about fashion. At the Ingolstadt Village’s outlet stores, exclusive brands from Etienne Aigner to Wrangler invite customers of all ages and style preferences to find just what they are looking for. Aside from clothing, jewelry and traveling paraphernalia, interior design accessories can also be purchased. The village’s Bambooland is a paradise for kids and offers free babysitting service that allows parents to enjoy an hour of relaxed shopping. Ingolstadt Village is a one-hour drive from Munich and lies next to the Autobahn A9. Shuttle buses from Munich Central Station depart Thursdays and Saturdays at 10 am for € 10. around the corner from Max-Joseph-Platz, Käfer’s delicatessen outlet provides a large variety of international fancy foods perfect for a culinary holiday. French soft cheeses, Italian pepperoni and German fresh bread from Käfer’s own bakery make up the shop’s selection of high quality basics. There are also aisles of exotic dressings and pastries, alongside a copious choice of chocolates and exquisite Japanese crackers. The shelves of wine and champagne are also worth intensive inspection. Wednesdays and Fridays, Käfer’s imports fresh cheeses and fish directly from the Paris marché halls.
