True Romance
Valentine’s Day is not the only time when people dedicate thoughts to our greatest emotion. Love in all of its variations has, of course, been a subject of art at all times. From February 21 through May 12, the Villa Stuck Museum will present the exhibition “True Romance—Allegories of Love from the Renaissance until Today.” The show will display a comprehensive survey: from the times when Petrarch sang about his beloved Laura, through to contemporary love codes and the commercialization of emotion. “True Romance” will include works by Picasso, Klimt, Man Ray, Cy Twombly, Marina Abramovic and many other renowned artists from all epochs. <<<
