Opera Live from New York
After the Metropolitan Opera started broadcasting via satellite to international movie theaters, the
Los Angeles Times described this fusion of live performance and film as the creation of a new art form. Having reached a worldwide audience of 325,000 so far, the Met now presents its second season of high-class productions. On four nights until April, Munich’s Cinema movie theater will join the global opera community. Conducted by James Levine, Puccini’s
Manon Lescaut will be broadcast on February 16
at 7 pm, followed by
Tristan and Isolde on March 22 at 6:30 pm. Star tenors Roman Vargas and Juan Diego Flórez will perform Puccini’s
La Bohème and
