March 2008
Musica Antiqua Viva
Celtic and Irish folk, the music of jugglers and jesters, and modern spins on medieval sounds will be presented at the 10th annual Musica Antiqua Viva festival from March 20 through April 26. The festival will kick off at Georg-Elser-Halle with Faun—a vocal ensemble accompanied by harp, bagpipes, lute and a fiddle fusing electronic soundscapes with archaic rhythms. Coppelius—a band of six instrumentalists and singers with a 19th-century slant—will perform on March 28 at Spectaculum Mundi. A day later, medieval rock band Schelmish will take the stage at Spectaculum Mundi. All concerts start at 8:30 pm. Tickets cost € 13.40–17 and can be purchased at all VVK outlets.
