Flea Market Poets
Once in a while, a visit to Oktoberfest leads to more than a serious hangover and vague memories of what happened in that tent. For British guitarist Jol Rose, however, a weekend at the
Wiesn led to a new life in the beautiful Bavarian capital. Texas-born drummer Christian Chapman also hit the town to participate in the world’s largest beer festival and visited a Munich flea market to complete his
Lederhosen outfit. There, he met fellow-musician Jol and the Flea Market Poets band was born. When Baltimore singer Jason Serious and bassist Michael Behnke, who brings some Bavarian flavor to the Anglo American squad, joined the band, the Flea Market Poets tuned their instruments and started recording some rough demos. These caught the attention of BRIT-award wining producer Pete Briquette, who has worked with Bob Geldof and The Frames among others. Briquette produced the band’s first single
Captain Nate.
Captain Nate and its B-side–
What is God supposed to do for you–can best be summarized as electro-folk and are ready to be downloaded at itunes for mere € 0.99 each.
