Eco Fashion Store

The time when ecological awareness meant wearing Birkenstocks and bulky cotton-colored sacks is thankfully long past. With the so-called “loha” boom, shops like the glore store, recently opened on Baaderstrasse, cover the needs of a new eco-generation. “Loha” stands for “lifestyle of health and sustainability” and glore is the abbreviation for “globally responsible fashion,” which means that all store merchandise was produced under sustainable and socially conscious conditions. The store’s product line includes T-shirts by English designer and “green fashion” veteran Katharine Hamnett, stylish sneakers made from natural rubber and organic cotton by French label “Veja,” as well as bags made from recycled leather jackets by Canadian designer Ashley Watson. So far, only women and babies can purchase globally responsible fashion at this store. For the time being, men will have to make do with regular clothing, or stick to the Birkenstocks and sacks. <<<
