Christopher Street Day
No exception to the current civic spirit, even the annual Christopher Street Day festivities will take up Munich’s anniversary theme this year. Under the motto “Building Bridges—To All Shores” the celebration of queer life will commence on July 12 with a three-hour parade through the city center. On July 13, partying will continue with all-day festivities at the Marienplatz. One of the highlights will be the “Pumps Race,” where ten contestants in flashy costumes and high-heels will race around the Mariensäule, while having to complete special tasks such as climbing a three-meter ladder or purse throwing.
