Wine seminars
Constance Heuberger, owner of Toskana Weinhandlung, holds wine seminars in English and German to impart the art of enjoyment. Limited to 12 lucky participants, the three-hour evening sessions teach lovers of wine — those clever enough to admit they could use a little tutorial, that is — a lesson in living it up. During Heuberger’s degustation, or tasting sessions, she introduces the basics of Italian wine by using some of the choicest labels from her house list. She addresses commonly asked questions, such as what differences in climate and soil can mean to wine flavor, what D.O.C. signifies and how to determine which year likely saw the world’s best wines. While munching on antipasti between courses of wine, you’ll wonder why you were ever nervous about being frowned on by wine snobs. Toskana Weinhandlung, Reichenbachstr. 51, Tel. 201 51 19. Heuberger’s next seminar in English: “White Wine, Prosecco, Rosé,” May 12 (DM 95 per person, reservations required at least two weeks in advance).
