****Two Against Nature (MCA/Universal)
Steely Dan, duo Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, became part of rock history in the 1970s — with pure style and musicianship, not good looks. The two ugly-duckling, jazz-influenced geniuses, who authored such classics as “Bodhisatva” and “Aja,” and worked with myriad artists, including the Doobie Brothers and Ricki Lee Jones, took a 20-year break. Two Against Nature is a reflection of the rejuvenation won by the Becker/Fagen team. Funky beats, intricate lyrics and melodies and the usual examination of big city life brought these two to the top — and keeps them there.
