Follw the signs before it's too late: labyrinth fun ends by mid-September
There is no denying the magic and mystery of a labyrinth. A well-known motif in ancient Greek mythology, the labyrinth, and the notion of getting lost in one, have captured people’s imaginations for centuries. Unlike the designers of the traditional Baroque garden labyrinths formed by tall hedges, Munich farmers have put a Bavarian spin on things by creating mazes among the towering stalks of cornfields around Munich. The objective is to find all the stations that have been set up throughout the labyrinth by the organizers. The search is harder than you may think, especially if you begin your quest after dusk, when a good flashlight is essential. If you haven’t already discovered these fields of amusement, time is running out as most close on September 10. Admission costs DM 5. Munich-Langwied, Lochhausenerstrasse, 500 meters from the S-bahn. Sauerlach, B13 direction Holzkirchen. Augsburg, B17, exit Inningen. All three are open daily through September 10 from 10:00-19:00 and Friday and Saturday until 24:00. Utting, at the leisure park on the lakeshore is open daily from 11:00-19:00 until mid-September.
