The NFA Monarchs! A new American football club
American football will certainly never beat soccer as Germany’s favorite spectator sport, but the rough-and-tumble game is steadily becoming more popular here. The NFA (National Football Academy) Monarchs are a recent addition to the local youth football league in Southern Germany. Earlier this year, in the team’s first season at play, the young Monarchs became Bayerischer Meister (Bavarian Champions) and Süddeutscher Vize Meister (runner-up to the Southern German Champions). The Monarch’s managers and coaches, predominately former staff for the Munich Cowboys, are currently seeking flag team (ages 10-14), junior team (ages 15-19) and senior team players (over 19). Team dues are DM 15 per month. Practices are held every Tuesday and Friday at the Sports Center Haar at 19:00. In addition, the Monarchs are accepting applications for trainer positions.
