Jewish culture days
Since its inception in 1986, the aim of the Gesellschaft zur Förderung jüdischer Kultur (Society for the Promotion of Jewish Culture) has fostered a deeper understanding of European Jewish issues, thanks in part, to the annual Jüdische Kulturtage (Jewish Culture Days). Sepharad, “Spain” in Hebrew, is this year’s motto for the Jewish Culture Days. “Sepharad 2000,” focuses on the history and culture of Jewish people on the Iberian Peninsula. The Translator School of Toledo, a medieval center of scholarship, will be featured in an exhibition at the Instituto Cervante on Marstallplatz from November 16 to 28. Lectures, readings and concerts on the past and present of Jewish culture in Spain will run parallel to the show. The 14th Jewish Culture Days keep international perspectives in the forefront and music in the air. American acts Brave Old World and Frank London’s Klezmer Brass Allstars will perform at the Gasteig. For detailed information visit any Munich ticket center or call (089) 22 14 53. <<< KA
