One Voice
A captivating classical music concert featuring the Czechoslovakian
mezzo-soprano Magdalena KoÏená will be performed at the Herkulessaal on March 29. The beautiful young opera singer became an overnight success in her hometown of Prague—as well as in France and Scotland—after the release of her 1997 album of Bach arias. Her powerful voice having been described by critics as “silvery brilliance, radiant timbre and crystalline,” she considers herself to be “a musical ambassador of her country.” KoÏená also plans to return on October 23, when she will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with James Levine and the Munich Philharmonic orchestra.
