Life’s Little Mysteries
Munich will be a thrilling place to be from April 15 to 21. During these seven days, the Criminale 2002, Germany’s largest festival, celebrating the mystery story, will be held in the city for the first time. Mostly a gathering of German mystery authors, who will present their hair-raising literature in readings, the event will end with a bang—an attempt to break a world record. Beginning at noon, on April 17, more than
100 authors, including such stars of the genre as Ingrid Noll and Friedrich Ani, will read from their books, for
96 hours, through April 19. The Gasteig will offer a diverse program featuring a series of Miss Marple movies and an afternoon of short mystery films produced by young directors from Munich. Various European thriller novelists will be given a platform to introduce their works. For a schedule of readings and events, visit
