Purdy Dancing
Do you sometimes feel like moving to a happy tune, but you don’t know which foot to put where? Perhaps the Munich Jive Night can help. Every Monday, from 7:30 pm to 11 pm, the public is invited to take French-style jive lessons at Regina’s nightclub (Maximilianplatz 5). The classes, which cost a mere € 5, have been designed in such a way that participants may join in as frequently or infrequently as they wish, without missing important steps. Jive dancing was born of the jazz partner dances of America in the 1920s and 1930s. Over the decades, various influences, ranging from rock’n’roll to Salsa, have been integrated. French-style jive is especially diversified, offering something for everyone. As the moves are based on a four-beat rhythm, jive can be danced to almost any piece of music, from the latest chart breakers to classic tunes of the 1950s. For more information, visit
