Hostel Environment
Don’t be misled by the name of the Euro Youth Hostel: you won’t need a youth hostel pass to stay here, you won’t need many Euros to pay your bill and it’s not just for Europeans either. The emphasis is definitely on international and this does not only apply to the guests. The staff, headed by 28-year-old Englishman Andy Mayston, come from every corner of the globe, including China, Italy, Sweden and Denmark. Conveniently situated in the Senefelderstrasse, one block south of the Hauptbahnhof, the hostel provides cheap lodgings for shoestring tourists wanting to see Munich. Prices for a place to lay your head vary according to room size, the cheapest (and most popular) is € 17.50 per bed in a room with 24 beds. The Euro Youth Hostel has found its way on to the pages of all the major travel guides, and there are only 200 beds in all, so, if possible, book well in advance.
