In recent years harvest festival celebrations seem to have gone into a sad decline. So die-hard fans of this annual event will be pleased to hear about the
Herbstfest (autumn festival), which will be held at the Viktualienmarkt on October 13. Tables loaded with autumn produce, traditional Bavarian music, activities for children and of course a limitless supply of beer are all part of the fun. Highlight of the day’s events is the
Prominentenaufwiegen (VIP weigh-in) in which a local celebrity is put on the scales and then matched, pound by pound, with local produce that is subsequently donated to a good cause. Action gets underway on the marketplace at 10 am. <<< IS
