Small Wonder
As if the Deutsches Museum didn’t have enough to offer visitors already, Germany’s largest museum for science and technology now has a special area reserved for children. At the Kinderreich (Children’s Realm) kids between the ages of two and eight—accompanied by their parents—are invited to discover and learn about the world of science. This permanent exhibition is spread over five thematically arranged rooms, such as “The World Outside: Nature, the World and Water,”
“Dark and Light: Echo, Acoustics and Music” and “Strong and Fast: Strength, Movement and Energy.” The hands-on approach encourages children to build and experiment with the material at hand. Texts accompany the exhibits, providing facts and background information for knowledge-thirsty parents and children alike.
