to 15 the 19th International Documentary Film Festival (
www.dokfest-muenchen.de) will be screening approximately 90 films from all over the world,
including premieres and works by up-and-coming talents. The different categories of the festival are competition, international program, aspects of the future, new Bavarian cinema and a special program focusing on films from India and Israel. The films, which are mostly shown with English subtitles, will be screened at the following movie theaters: Arri, Rio-Filmpalast, Filmmuseum, Gasteig, Maxim and the Munich Film School. This month also sees Canada giving Hollywood a run for its money with Maple & Movies, a screening of 15 Canadian films at the Werkstatt Kino. And to see emerging German film directors, there is a screening
of short films at the Muffathalle Café on May 23 and the Filmnach8 (
www.filmnach8.de) screening at Substanz
on May 30.
