Akubras, Drizabones and Blundstone Boots will surely be the order of the night during the Downunder Ball to be held on Saturday, May 22. Staged by Munich’s Aussies and Kiwis, the event is the annual bush bash of the Antipodean clan. Now into its sixth year, the event will feature a new venue and line-up. Julien Kann, one of the organizers, said the ball will be an action-packed, energy-filled night with more fun than a koala can bear. “Mate, a change is as good as a holiday,” explained Kann. “We thought we'd revamp the ball a bit. Introduce some new elements, a new venue and try and give people even more bang for their buck this year.” For € 10 people will get to see three bands (including The Big Lewinski and Derryn “Red” Bull) plus receive the first drink free (beer, wine or soft drink) and can tuck in to an “all-you-can-eat BBQ buffet,” which will include snags, rissoles, steaks and salads. And if that’s not enough, there’ll also be bush dancing, didgeridoo players, a chook raffle, door prizes and quite a few other surprises. The 2004 Downunder Ball will be held at the Bondi Bar, Sonnenstr. 8 (near
the Karlsplatz/Stachus U-Bahn station). Doors open at 7 pm. Tickets are available from the
